8 Camera London is a workshop for fine used photographica — classic cameras, lenses and imaging systems, sold, inspected, serviced and set right in London.
Eight is infinity
Our name comes from 8. Laid on its side, it is the infinity symbol, ∞. Photography is the art of stopping time — in the instant the shutter falls, a fleeting, disappearing moment is fixed, to be looked at, kept and passed on.
We believe a truly fine instrument doesn’t only belong to the past. It belongs to the next hand, the next frame, the next story. Second-hand should not mean second-best — it should mean quality, character and value that survived the filter of time.
Our mission is simple: to deliver a camera with years of history in working order as reliable as the day it left the factory.
Our standards
What matters in a used camera isn’t how new it looks — it’s whether it’s real, reliable, clearly sourced, and holds up to long use and inspection. So we hold to:
- Original & complete
- Genuine parts, never a Frankenstein assembly.
- Not refinished-as-original
- No refurb or swapped parts passed off as untouched.
- Provenance clear
- We know where it came from.
- Condition transparent
- Glass, shutter, aperture, advance, meter — all written down.
- Faults told plainly
- Problems stated, not hidden under cosmetics.

The workshop
Experience, not guesswork.
Many faults in old equipment aren’t isolated — a generation’s shutter drift, a lens family’s haze risk, a system’s advance quirk. Reading them takes years at the bench. Our team works across Leica, Hasselblad, Rolleiflex and Contax, and is guided by senior technicians from Gothenburg, Sweden — long-time Hasselblad specialists — using the proper tools, and stable parts channels, so nothing is bodged. Where our cameras come from
Based in London, sourced worldwide — Japan, the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, North America and beyond. Our team scouts the globe for fine used cameras, lenses and accessories, drawing on private collectors, working photographers, high-end auction houses and brand channels we have worked with for years.
